Wedding Music Ideas….
Wedding Music Ideas….Despite this recent cold weather (and alarming reports of more snow coming at the end of this week!), we’re starting to get ready for the Spring wedding season with plenty of couples getting in touch with lists of their chosen pieces of music from our string quartet Playlist. ¬†Generally, our advice is that couples can’t go wrong with optimistic, upbeat pieces of music that mirror the qualities of the season. Whereas in winter, often the emphasis is on elegant, contemplative and stately pieces, by the time it comes to the warmer days of spring and flowers start to emerge, the mood is altogether more celebratory and lively.
As we are a Buckinghamshire string quartet, many of the weddings we play for take place in rural areas and country Churches, so the time of year is always more obvious in these countryside surroundings than when we’re asked to play in large cities such as London.
Many couples these days opt not to have classical music at all from hiring classical musicians, but instead ask us to play a selection of pop songs for string quartet, which is usually a constant source of delight to guests who can begin impromptu games of ‘guess the intro’ between themselves.
As ever, wedding string quartet classics such as Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Pachelbel’s Canon in D, the Wedding March and the Bridal Chorus will be as popular as in any time of year, with many couples choosing a movement from Vivaldi’s Spring from the four seasons to be especially appropriate.
Really, whatever time of year the wedding is, the choice of string quartet wedding music is entirely personal and we are always happy to put together a bespoke playlist of pieces, hand picked by the bridal couple.
