Kent Wedding String Duo at Chilston Park Hotel
Kent Wedding String Duo at Chilston Park Hotel – a couple of Sundays ago, our string duo (consisting of violin and viola) played for a wedding held at Chilston Park Hotel, situated near Lenham in Kent. The string duo was ideal for this particular wedding as the number of guests totalled around 70 all in all. It also proved ideal in the wedding room at Chilston, fitting neatly into a corner of room behind the wedding guests and projecting easily (as well as complementing conversation without overpowering it). If you’d like advice on whether to opt for a string duo or string quartet, feel free to read our article ‘Wedding String Duo – Getting Your Musicians To Fit Your Venue’.
We started with a mixture of popular classical pieces as guests made their way to their seats. For the ceremony itself we played Pachelbel’s Canon for the entrance of the bride, as well as ‘Make You Feel My Love’ for the signing of the register and Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’ for the exit of the bridal couple.
The drinks reception was held in the grounds at the back of the hotel and hear we played a selection of feelgood tracks which the guests really appreciated. One of the special moments of the day happened just before the bridal party made their way into the wedding breakfast. At this point, we treated the bride to ‘My Heart Will Go On’ – especially arranged for string duo for this occasion and a fitting way for our contribution to come to a close.
