Oxford String Quartet for Wedding at Rhodes House
Oxford string quartet for wedding at Rhodes House – On Saturday 12th July, the string quartet played for a wedding at Rhodes House in Oxford. The house is the administrational centre for the Oxford University Rhodes Scholarships and has a marvellous hall as well as a picturesque lawn and beautifully¬†cultivated gardens. We set up next to a spacious bay window and¬†played as guests entered the hall and got ready for the ceremony to begin. The couple had chosen Pachelbel’s Canon to enter to and then opted for a more modern feel for the rest of the items during the ceremony, exiting to Bruno Mars’s ‘Marry You’ for string quartet, which you can hear here:
Everyone then left the building and enjoyed a wonderfully sunny afternoon on the lawns (it looked just as stunning as the photo on the front of the Rhodes House website!). The drinks reception and photographs were accompanied by the string quartet performing an array of rock and pop tunes, from Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’ to Coldplay’s ‘Paradise’.
