Wedding String Quartet & Duo
Manor House Music perform as a string quartet for weddings and all special occasions. We are frequently recommended as the ideal choice for those who would like to have music beautifully played for their ceremony, drinks reception or breakfast meal, whether it be for a wedding or civil partnership. If your ceremony and reception drinks are taking place in two separate venues, we can offer real flexibility, being able to travel from one to the other. We are also able to spread our playing over a greater period of time (such as 2 hours of playing spread across 2.5 hours), so you don’t have to pay in full for our travelling time or breaks.
We realise that every wedding day is unique and aim to work closely with each couple – putting together a bespoke programme of music to perfectly suit your needs. From the moment you decide to go ahead and book our group, Vaughan will help every step of the way, understanding that some brides and grooms like a ‘hands on’ approach to selecting music, whereas other couples are happy to give a few pointers and leave the choice to us. Whether working closely with you to find the best location to position us during your ceremony, through to sorting out our insurance with your venue, Vaughan will answer all your questions rapidly and with the minimum of fuss – leaving you to focus on the more enjoyable aspects of your big day!
When considering hiring a group, the cost of a string quartet really does vary between groups, but with our attention to detail and professionalism, clients can be assured of the highest standard of musicianship for their special day – making the music a memorable talking point, whether the couple would like to enter the ceremony to a specially requested piece or even have us accompany the hymns in a church service. Many couples book us purely to provide an elegant atmosphere during a meal or drinks reception.
If you are planning a more intimate gathering where hiring a string duo might be suitable, please do get in touch to discuss this as Vaughan has spent years building up a library of over 250 pieces specifically arranged for the combination of violin with viola and violin with cello.
If you would like to hear samples of our playing from the traditional bridal marches or processional music to something altogether more modern, please click through to our playlist page and select the samples on our jukebox.
Over the last ten years we’ve performed at some 200 venues across the South East of England, as well as many in the South West and Midlands. If you’d like to find out whether we’ve played at your venue, do get in touch – we’d be happy to share our experiences with you!
