Oxfordshire String Duo At Milton Hill House Hotel – Last Saturday, Manor House Music returned once again to play for a wedding held at Milton Hill House Hotel in Steventon, Oxfordshire. It’s always a pleasure playing at this venue as it’s got such friendly staff. As the ceremony was a smaller gathering with just 30 guests, the wedding itself took place in the library, making it a perfect location for the intimacy of a string duo. This was an occasion where a string quartet might have been overpowering and would have certainly taken up too much space. Here is a video of our string duo performing a popular piece by Bach:

After the ceremony we moved location (which is very easy with just the two of us) and were able to play outside during the reception drinks and enjoyed speaking to guests who gave us many positives comments about our music. As everyone filed in for the wedding breakfast, we received a spontaneous round of applause which ended a very pleasant afternoon.

It was also a real pleasure to work with Chris from Active Photography who really added to the atmosphere of the day. In our experience, we have seen wedding photographers occasionally ‘take over’, ordering guests (and musicians!) around and inhibiting the flow of the celebrations – so it was a real breath of fresh air to come across Chris who worked around everyone in a very natural way.
