Wedding String Quartet at Fanhams Hall, Herts
Wedding String Quartet at Fanhams Hall, Herts – On Sunday the Manor House String Quartet found ourselves back for another Hertfordshire wedding – providing music at Fanhams Hall once more, on a beautiful sunny day – playing as a string quartet for a wedding ceremony and reception. The couple chose to get married in a garden area to the side of the building, surrounded by high hedges with a green wooden structure which allowed the formal part of the ceremony to take place undercover (as this is a legal requirement). The staff at Fanhams were most helpful and set up a gazebo very quickly for us so that we could play outside, near the front where the guests were seated. Here is a video of our group playing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ for string quartet:
For the reception, we were able to find shade next to a wall (outside the old library / drawing room) and out of¬†the way of any photographs being taken. We seemed to be particularly popular with the children who pulled up chairs to sit and listen to us, offering us gifts of petals and pieces of confetti to decorate our music stands after each piece. The children’s parents were very amused by the interest their kids were paying to the music, in particular our repertoire of modern music for string quartet and duo and the whole day was a very happy one.
