Wedding Music at Notley Tythe Barn – On Saturday, a couple hired the string quartet to play for their wedding, held at Notley Tythe Barn which is near Aylesbury. As we are a Buckinghamshire string quartet, this is an incredibly local venue to us and we have performed there many times as a wedding string quartet and a string duo.

We played a selection of classical and more modern music for string quartet as guests arrived and took their seats. This helped particularly as there was a short delay before the bride arrived. We then performed for the bridal entrance, the signing of the register and at the special request of the couple, we had written an arrangement of one of their favourite songs to exit to: You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC. The couple had originally heard this rock song arranged for string quartet in a version by the Vitamin String Quartet and had asked us to write our own arrangement of it for their wedding, so the music was very personalised.

We have an enormous repertoire of pop songs for string quartet and the couple took advantage of this by choosing plenty of their favourites from our string quartet playlist.

Overall, it was a delightful wedding and we wish the newly married couple many years of happiness together.
