Oxfordshire String Quartet for Wedding at Bix Manor
Oxfordshire string quartet for wedding at Bix Manor РOn a Saturday in late August the Manor House String Quartet played for a wonderful wedding in the delightful setting of Bix Manor, near Henley-on-Thames on the border of Oxfordshire and Berkshire. The guests assembled in the courtyard of the Manor House for the ceremony itself and were rewarded with wonderfully sunny weather. A CD accompanied the entrance of the bride and we contributed by playing Eva Cassidy’s version of ‘Songbird’ for string quartet as well as Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’ during the signing of the register. The bridal couple then exited to Stevie Wonder’s fitting ‘Signed, Sealed Delivered I’m Yours’:
The wedding party remained in the courtyard for the drinks reception and for this we performed a set of rock, pop, light and film theme favourites. This lasted for approximately an hour and a half before the guests were called in to the Great Tythe Barn for the wedding breakfast, where we continued to entertain until speeches began.
It’s always a great pleasure to receive feedback from brides and grooms and I was delighted to receive these comments from Amy and Finn a few days later:
“‚Ķ‚Ķ.. I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you and your fellow players for an amazing performance at our wedding.
My words cannot express how lovely the music was, everyone commented how phenomenal you all were and how fabulous the arrangements were. We had high hopes having listened to all the pieces on the website and on youtube but you far exceeded our expectations.  Friends of ours are trying to invent events they can have you to play at as everyone enjoyed it so much.
Thank you so much for helping to make our day so perfect and also for all your help beforehand.
It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to be able to enjoy your music in the not too distant future.”
